Embattled former pharmaceutical CEO and hedge fund manager Martin Shkreli has endorsed Donald Trump for president.
“I haven’t been called by the Trump camp,” Shkreli tweeted Thursday. “I support him vs. Hillary. He should find a VP candidate who is seasoned in politics, an ugly game.”
He also addressed people who are against Trump shortly after announcing his endorsement.
“All you people who don’t like Trump are jealous, stupid and poor!” he said. “Don’t make me laugh! And if you are employed by media you are worthless.”
Shkreli, the pharmaceutical executive who drew widespread wrath for hiking up the price of HIV medications, was arrested on fraud charges in December.
In the same month, Shkreli bought a one-of-a-kind Wu-Tang Clan album titled “Once Upon a Time in Shaolin.” While it’s not known exactly how much Shkreli paid for the album, Bloomberg reported that he shelled out $2 million for the privilege of owning the only copy of the album that will ever be produced.
One month later, the disgraced exec said he might destroy the album or put it in some remote place so people have to go on some sort of “spiritual quest” to listen to it.
