‘Departed’ Producer King Shifts Output Deal to Sony

His GK Films will make a minimum of two films a year for studio to market, distribute worldwide.

Oscar-winning producer Graham King ("The Departed") has signed a three-year output deal with Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions Group. Peter Schlessel, president of worldwide affairs for SPWAG, announced the pact Tuesday.

King’s GK Films will independently develop, finance and produce a minimum of two films per year to be marketed and distributed worldwide by Sony Pictures.

Kin is nearing the end of a first-look deal at Warner Bros. and will continue to develop existing projects with them.

“Working with Warners has been, and continues to be, a wonderful experience and I cherish the support and collaboration of the whole team,” King said in a statement.
