If Fox renews “The X Factor” for a fourth season, judge Demi Lovato won’t be back.
The pop star confirmed reports that the current season is her last on Wednesday after taping the show’s finale performance episode.
“In 2014, I’m going to dedicate it entirely to music, touring and making a new album,” Lovato told reporters.

The 21-year-old joined the competition for Season 2. Aside from executive producer Simon Cowell, Lovato was the only other judge to return for Season 3.
L.A. Reid announced he wouldn’t be returning toward the end of the season while Britney Spears announced she won’t be back soon after wrapping Season 2. In their place, Latin singer Paulina Rubio and former Destiny’s Child member and “X Factor UK” judge Kelly Rowland joined for the current season.
Cowell also confirmed Lovato’s departure to reporters on Wednesday night. “I always knew she wasn’t coming back because she’s touring, so I knew that,” he said.
A Fox representative told TheWrap that the network has no comment on Lovato’s departure.

Although “The X Factor” has lost about half of its 12 million viewers from Season 1, Cowell said earlier this week that he’s pretty sure the show will get another season, but there will be some changes. He did say one of those changes could be some new judges.
“We have to be more different next year than we were this year,” he said, considering the crowded marketplace for talent shows. “So, we’re in the middle of a presentation to Fox to say this is what we think the show should look like, this is what we think the fans would like.”
In May, Lovato released her fourth studio album, “Demi.” She co-wrote 10 of the 13 songs on the album and recorded it during 2012 and 2013, while shooting the second season of “The X Factor.” She released three singles from the album: “Heart Attack,” “Made In The USA,” and “Neon Lights.”

Lovato rose to fame as a standout on the movie, “Camp Rock.” She went on to star on Disney Channel’s “Sonny With a Chance” for two seasons. Currently, she has been recurring on Fox’s “Glee.”
