Guillermo Diaz, Sofia Black-D’Elia and Chris Elliott will guest star in Hulu’s upcoming series, “Deli Boys,” TheWrap can reveal exclusively.
Diaz, Black-D’Elia and Elliott are set to appear in the Onyx Collective series, which stars Asif Ali and Saagar Shaikh as spoiled Pakistani American brothers who lose everything when their deli-tycoon father suddenly dies and they find out he was more drug lord than corporate magnate, according to the official logline.
In “Deli Boys,” which premieres March 6 on Hulu, Diaz guest stars as Chacho, a legendary assassin sent by the Peruvian Cartel, while Elliott guest stars as Sergeant Testicola, a salty Philly cop. Black-D’Elia will play Gigi Lozano, the feisty daughter of mob boss Chickie Lozano (Kevin Corrigan), per the character descriptions.
Diaz, Black-D’Elia and Elliott join the cast of “Deli Boys” alongside Ali and Shaikh, who star as Mir and Raj, respectively, as well as Poorna Jagannathan, who stars as Lucky, Alfie Fuller, who stars as Prairie, and Brian George, who plays Ahmad.
Diaz is best known for starring in “Half Baked” as Scarface, and can be seen in series like “Scandal,” “Weeds,” “Girls” and Comedy Central’s “Chappelle’s Show,” while Elliott is best known for playing Roland on “Schitt’s Creek.” Elliott’s additional credits include “Maggie,” “There’s Something About Mary,” “Groundhog Day” and “Cabin Boy.”
Black-D’Elia has starred in “The Mick,” “Single Drunk Female,” “Your Honor” and “The Night Of,” with her guest spot in “Deli Boys” marking a reunion with EP Jenni Konner.
Abdullah Saeed created the half-hour, 10-episode series and Konner and Nora Silver developed the show under Jenni Konner Productions. Michelle Nader serves as showrunner and executive produces alongside Saeed, Konner and Silver. “Deli Boys” is produced by 20th Television.
