Debbie Reynolds will be honored by SAG-AFTRA with its Life Achievement Award, the union announced on Monday.
The 82-year-old actress will receive the award during the 21st annual Screen Actors Guild Awards ceremony airing live on TNT and TBS on Jan. 25.

Reynolds, an accomplished singer and dancer who launched her career by starring in 1952 classic “Singin’ in the Rain,” is the 51st recipient of SAG-AFTRA’s highest accolade, which is given to an actor or actress who fosters the “finest ideals of the acting profession.”
“I’m thrilled that SAG-AFTRA is presenting our Life Achievement Award to Debbie Reynolds. She is a tremendously talented performer with a diverse body of screen and stage work, live performances and several hit records,” SAG-AFTRA president Ken Howard said in a statement. “Her generous spirit and unforgettable performances have entertained audiences across the globe, moving us all from laughter to tears and back again. Congratulations, Debbie, on your life achievements.”
