Two years ago, Ryan Reynolds put on his red Deadpool costume to make a testicular cancer PSA. Now, the Merc with a Mouth is back with another cancer PSA in partnership with Omaze.
“Oh, hello there, you may be wondering why the pink suit,” Deadpool said in the video. “So the world can see I have a big ol’ heart on — that’s heart with a T for my new obsession with pink.”
Reynolds partnered with Omaze for fans to enter a contest where they can own the pink suit and other memorabilia from the film, as well as “a piece of film marketing history–potentially with perspiration from Wade Wilson.”
“Join Deadpool in sending a big F-you to cancer by supporting the incredible work of LetsFCancer,” it says on Omaze’s website.
After fans score the pink suit, they can add it to their “weekly wardrobe rotation,” it could be a “colorful addition” to their SM costumes or just simply be a tactic to “scare away the elderly.”
In 2016, Reynolds put on his red spandex costume to make a testicular cancer PSA called “Touch Yourself Tonight,” which featured the sarcastic Marvel superhero detailing how men can check their private parts for “the most common form of cancer in men aged between 15 and 35.”
“It’s time to fight back,” Reynolds says in character. “Hold each of your man berries — or as I like to call them, Smooth Criminals. In turn, between your thumb and fingers, give them a gentle roll around. Don’t get too excited, though. You’re on a mission.”
