Ryan Reynolds‘ “Deadpool” tried his own luck with the rose last night when he released a “shameless Bachelor-bating” TV spot while the rest of America was watching ABC’s “The Bachelor.”
At 7:14 p.m., ahead of the premiere of the show’s 20th season starring Ben Higgins as the Bachelor, Reynolds tweeted out the TV spot, in which Deadpool can be seen provocatively lounging in front of a fireplace, rose in hand.
“Oh, hello! You’re probably thinking, ‘My boyfriend said this would be a superhero movie,’” he says to the camera. “Well, surprise! This is actually a love story.”
The rest of the 30-second spot is filled with funny one-liners, car chases and sword fights. Reynolds’ tweet was captioned with, “#deadpool – shameless Bachelor-bating tv spot.”
“Deadpool” stars Gina Carano, Morena Baccarin, Ed Skrein and T.J. Miller, and will hit theaters on Feb. 12.
