Deadpool and Fred Savage Debate Nickelback: ‘Overproduced, Formulaic Ear Garbage’ (Video)

PG-13 “Once Upon a Deadpool” arrives in theaters Dec. 12

Deadpool demands that you “Respect the ‘Back” in the latest clip from “Once Upon a Deadpool,” the PG-13 recut of “Deadpool 2.” That’s Nickelback, the Grammy and Juno (“those count!”) award-nominated rock band.

And Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool is not having Fred Savage’s too cool for school take on the Canadian rockers, reciting off a list of some of their commercial achievements. Did you know that they are Billboard’s most successful rock group of the last decade and the 11th highest selling band of all time?

“You’re Marvel licensed by Fox. It’s like if The Beatles were produced by Nickelback. It’s music! But it sucks,” Savage says in the trailer. “They’re overproduced, formulaic ear garbage.”

The clip is one of the new scenes from the family-friendly version of the film, which stitches in clips of Deadpool with Savage as they model scenes from “The Princess Bride.”

“Once Upon a Deadpool” will have a limited engagement Dec. 12-24. And One dollar of every ticket sold in the United States will be donated to F Cancer, which has now changed its name to Fudge Cancer in honor of the PG-13 remake of the movie.
