This is not the way to take a shot in a bar, Casey Moss.

Moss, who plays J.J. Deveraux on NBC soap opera “Days of Our Lives,” was arrested shortly after midnight on Monday for trying to hit a bartender, a spokesman for the Scottsdale, Ariz., police department told TheWrap on Wednesday.

According to police, they received an assault call from the W Hotel at approximately 12:30 a.m. Police say that an intoxicated Moss tried to hit the bartender after he refused to continue serving the actor. Moss also allegedly shoved a second staff member.

When asked his name, Moss yelled, “I’m Casey Moss, and I’m an actor on ‘Days of Our Lives,’” the police spokesman said.

Moss was handcuffed, but “began to physically pull away and struggle” with the officer, police said. Moss was “taken to the ground” to end the struggle and was transported to the Scottsdale jail without further incident.

There were no reported injuries, police said.

The 21-year-old actor faces charges of assault, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.

Cast members of the soap were in Phoenix on Monday for a book signing for the book “Days of our Lives: 50 Years,” which commemorates a half-century of the series.

A spokeswoman for “Days of our Lives” has not yet responded to TheWrap’s request for comment.
