‘Dawn of the Planet of the Apes’ Trailer Proves How Difficult Peace Can Be (Video)

“Sorry, my friend,” Ceasar tells a human he has befriended. “War has begun.”

The latest trailer for “Dawn of the Planet of the Apes” is all about the fragility of peace. Ceasar leads a nation of genetically-evolved apes, and manages to secure a peace with a small group of humans. In fact, they even become friends. But peace proves harder to maintain.

Humanity is facing potential extermination at the hands of the virus unleashed ten years prior. But they will not go quietly into the night. And while some fight for peace, most seem willing to just fight.

“Dawn of the Planet of the Apes,” a Chernin Enteratainment film, is distributed by 20th Century Fox. Produced by Peter Chernin, Dylan Clark, Rick Jaffa, and Amanda Silver, the film was directed by Matt Reeves from a screenplay by Jaffa, Silver, Scott Z. Burns, and Mark Bomback. Jaffa and Silver developed the story.

Starring Jason Clarke, Gary Oldman, Andy Serkis, Keri Russel, Judy Greer, and Kodi Smit-McPhee, the sequel to “Rise of the Planet of the Apes” debuts in theaters nationwide on July 11, 2014.
