Brian Williams might still be the evening news king in total viewers, but David Muir and ABC have reason to smile as last week’s ratings marked significant momentum for “World News Tonight.”
Muir drew 2,283,000 million demo viewers for the week of November 10th, while “Nightly News” with Brian Williams garnered 2,270,000 demo viewers. “CBS Evening News” with Scott Pelley came in third with 1,818,000 demo viewers.
The demo win for Muir’s “WNT” is its seventh out of the first eight weeks of the TV season; the best run for ABC in 19 years, since the 1995-96 season.
Williams kept his total viewer winning streak, stretching it to 270 weeks by drawing 9,638,000 viewers compared to Muir’s 8,989,000 viewer; a 649,000 viewer difference.
The total viewers performance was NBC’s best since March. CBS’s evening broadcast drew 7,435,000 viewers.
