Fox has dropped a new teaser of the next chapter of “The X-Files,” the six-episode event series that kicks off Jan. 24, 2016.
“Are you ready for this, Scully?” Mulder asks in the 17-second clip.
“I don’t know there’s a choice,” Scully replies.
Thirteen years after the original series run, stars David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson return to their roles as FBI Agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully. The event is helmed by creator and executive producer Chris Carter, and production began in summer 2015.
“The X-Files” originally premiered in September 1993. Over its nine-season run, it earned 16 Emmy Awards, five Golden Globes and a Peabody Award and was one of the longest-running sci-fi series in network television history.
The series follows the FBI special agents as they investigate unexplained cases called “X-Files” that involve paranormal phenomena.
The event series begins its two-night premiere immediately following the NFC Championship Game Sunday, Jan. 24, 2016 (airtime TBD), on Fox and continues on Monday, Jan. 25 (8-9 p.m. ET).
