Dave Chappelle wasn't booed offstage during his stand-up show in Hartford, Conn. — he was booed throughout his entire set, then walked off once he was onstage long enough to get paid.
"I fucked up when I left my show, you know why? 'Cause my show only has to be 22 minutes of television. I could've went on television, I could've read the phone book for 22 minutes and I would've got $50 million," Chappelle said at the Wednesday night performance. "I shoulda done that shit, but my ego wouldn't let me. Tonight is different. Tonight my contract says 25 minutes, and I have 3 minutes left. And when my 3 minutes is up, my ass is gone."

TMZ reports that the awkward performance began when he started getting interrupted by the crowd after only a few minutes on stage. Although he reportedly spent the majority of his set lecturing the audience about heckling, video from the event proves he did manage to get a few zingers out.
"You are booing yourself," Chappelle joked. "I want you to all go home and look in the mirror and say, 'Boo!' Know that's how I feel about you."
Shortly after reading an excerpt from a book written by an audience member and riffing on the size of her chest, as well as the amount of time she spent in prison, the comedian let out a sigh of relief when he reached the end of his contractual obligation.
"That was the longest half-an-hour," Chappelle said. "Not since my fucking son was born, was a 30 minutes that long."
