Matt Murdock is having a serious crisis of faith in the “Daredevil” Season 3 trailer.
“I used to listen to people asking for help,” he says. “That’s what I was trying to do, was help people. But I was fooling myself. Darkness only responds to darkness.”
We get, it Matt, you’ve had a rough few months, what with nearly getting crushed to death under Midland Circle at the end of “The Defenders,” your BFFs assuming your dead, and (drum roll here) Wilson Fisk getting out of prison.
In the trailer, Fisk says that he’s made a lot of mistakes, and he’s OK doing time for those. But now that he’s out, he’s ready to convince the citizens of Hell’s Kitchen that he’s trying to make the city a better place — naming Daredevil public enemy No. 1 in the process.
The trailer offers a peek at new footage including some epic-looking fight scenes and Fisk in an all-white suit straight out of the comics. And at the end, it looks like someone stole Matt’s red Daredevil suit and is impersonating the street hero.
Netflix is bringing the Marvel series to New York Comic-Con with a panel on Saturday at Madison Square Garden.
“Daredevil” Season 3 premieres Oct. 19 on Netflix.
