Danny DeVito Blames #OscarsSoWhite on ‘Racist’ America ‘Built on Boards of Genocide’ (Video)

Sundance 2016: “It’s unfortunate that we’re xenophobic,” “Wiener-Dog” star tells TheWrap

Actor Danny DeVito blamed the all-white Oscar nominations this year on “racist” America.

“I love America, but it’s a racist country built on the boards of genocide,” DeVito told TheWrap’s Jeff Sneider during an interview for his movie “Wiener-Dog” at the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah.

“It’s unfortunate that we’re xenophobic,” the actor went on to say.

DeVito also talked about Hollywood’s gender pay disparity telling TheWrap, “It’s unfortunate that women make 30 percent less than men most of the time.”

DeVito is the latest in a long list of Hollywood stars who have criticized the Oscars for nominating only white actors for the second consecutive year.
