A free, downloadable original half-hour audio “Homeland” episode — performed by star Damian Lewis as his congressman-turned-fugitive character — will be available on Audible.com following the show’s episode this Sunday.
The audio story will “tie into important plot lines developed during the first few episodes of the new season,” Twentieth Century Fox and Audible said on Friday, announcing the project.
The collaboration will extend the “Homeland” story for fans of the Showtime series. It will allow “my character, Nick Brody, to forge a more intimate and personal connection with the show’s fans, adding additional layers and depth to the plot points unveiled this season,” the Emmy and Golden Globe-winning Lewis said in a statement.

“Strategically it is important to explore new mediums and methods of reaching our consumers which includes the large fan base of the show,” said Roz Nowicki, executive vice president of Global Sales and Retail at Fox Consumer Products. “Our relationship with Audible offers a unique channel for a television series to present easily accessible extensions of the show to a wide audience.”
