Damian Lewis and Dakota Fanning lead the next wave of cast additions announced Wednesday for Quentin Tarantino’s next film, “Once Upon A Time In Hollywood,” playing famed Hollywood star Steve McQueen and Manson Family member Lynette “Squeaky” Fromme.
Other cast additions added by Sony include Luke Perry as Scotty Lancer, Emile Hirsch as Jay Sebring, and Nicholas Hammond as Sam Wanamaker. Clifton Collins and Keith Jefferson have also been added to the cast.
The film takes place in Los Angeles in 1969 and follows Rick Dalton (Leonardo DiCaprio), former star of a western TV series, and his longtime stunt double Cliff Booth (Brad Pitt). The film will follow their struggles to make it in a Hollywood that has moved on without them, just as their next door neighbor, Sharon Tate, is infamously killed by Charles Manson.
Tarantino, who is writing and directing, will also produce with Sharon McIntosh and David Heyman. Sony will release the film on Aug. 9, 2019.
