CW’s ‘Flash’ Reveals Role for Original Flash John Wesley Shipp

Actor who played superhero in the 1990s will play speedy hero’s father

Like father, like son?

The CW’s upcoming superhero series “The Flash” has found its role for John Wesley Shipp, who played the speedy, red-tighted hero in CBS’s “The Flash” in the 1990s.

In a move that’s perhaps not surprising, Shipp has been cast as Henry Allen, the father of Barry Allen, AKA the Flash, who’s being played by “Glee” alum Grant Gustin.
