CW’s “Arrow” producers just told fans at San Diego Comic-Con that it would be adding new hero Wildcat to the show on Season 3. Just days later, we now know who’s playing the character.
J.R. Ramirez has been cast in the potentially recurring role, a show representative told TheWrap.
During this past weekend’s San Diego Comic-Con, executive producer Marc Guggenheim revealed that the hero would be joining the show, but he didn’t reveal any casting news.

Wildcat’s name is Theodore “Ted” Grant. He was a championship boxer who got entangled with underground crime. He ended up creating the Wildcat alter-ego to clear his own name. Created by writer Bill Finger and designed by illustrator Irwin Hasen, Wildcat is a longtime member of the Justice Society of America.
Guggenheim did say that Wildcat would have “some interaction with Laurel,” which some fans believe suggests that he’ll have something to do with training Black Canary.
Ramirez currently appears on 50 Cent and Starz’s “Power.” He also starred on the short-lived “Emily Owens M.D.” on CW and Tyler Perry‘s syndicated sitcom, “House of Payne.”
