Iris West marries Barry Allen in the comic books, but on the CW’s new version of “The Flash,” it looks like this romance will be a slow-burner, if it ever gets to that point.

Here, Iris (Candice Patton) and Barry (Grant Gustin) practically grew up together as siblings, so you can understand her hesitation when he brings up the fact that they are both not in relationships at the moment. She immediately derails that kind of talk by telling him she’s more than happy to listen to him talk about other girls. Nice save, Iris.

But at least Barry has plenty going on outside the romance department. In another new clip released from the fall premiere, Barry’s superhero moniker is put to the test – in the desert, just like the fastest cars on earth. Dr. Harrison Wells (Tom Cavanaugh) is a believer, but Caitlin Snow (Danielle Panabaker) is more skeptical.
