The CW has ordered two drama pilots, an untitled paranormal thriller from Kevin Williamson, and “Frequency,” based on the 2000 Dennis Quaid film of the same name.

Williamson’s project follows a young woman who seeks help from a parapsychologist when she begins to experience paranormal phenomena.

Williamson will write and serve as executive producer, while David Nutter will direct the pilot and also serve as an EP. Lauren Wagner is also a producer.

“Frequency” will be written by “Supernatural” alum Jeremy Carver, who will also serve as EP, along with Toby Emmerich, John Rickard, Dan Lin and Jennifer Gwartz.

In this reimagining of the New Line Cinema time-travel film, a female police detective in 2016 discovers she is able to speak via a ham radio with her estranged father (also a detective) who died in 1996.

They forge a new relationship while working together on an unresolved murder case, but unintended consequences of the “butterfly effect” wreak havoc in the present day.

The original film starred Quaid, Jim Caviezel and Elizabeth Mitchell.
