“Criminal Minds: Evolution” is officially returning this spring, and it’s coming back with a Season 19 renewal. Season 18 of the police procedural will premiere exclusively on Paramount+ on May 8.

This upcoming installment will be 10 episodes long with new episodes premiering on Thursdays.

Season 18 takes place six months after prisoners attacked the Sicarius Killer — Elias Voit (Zach Gilford) — a move that led to his followers taking to the dark web to wreak havoc across the country. The Behavioral Analysis Unit is forced to work with Voit to stop the chaos, but the longer they work with him, the clearer it becomes that he has his own agenda. In addition to Gilford, this new season stars Joe Mantegna, A.J. Cook, Kirsten Vangsness, Aisha Tyler, and RJ Hatanaka along with Adam Rodriguez and Paget Brewster.

Erica Messer, known for her work on “Criminal Minds” and “Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders,” serves as showrunner and executive producer for “Evolution.” Breen Frazier, Chris Barbour, Glenn Kershaw and Mark Gordon also serve as executive producers. “Criminal Minds: Evolution” is produced by 20th Television and CBS Studios.

Created by Messer and Jeff Davis, “Criminal Minds” first premiered in 2005. The series follows a group of criminal profilers working for the FBI as they investigate crimes and uncover perpetrators. “Criminal Minds” technically ended in 2020 before it was revived on as “Criminal Minds: Evolution” in 2022. When it was on CBS, the drama consistently ranks among the network’s most-watched shows. Since that revival, the series has been a Paramount+ exclusive.
