Corey Feldman won’t be charged with sexual battery, after being accused earlier this year.
A spokesman for the Los Angeles City Attorney’s office told TheWrap that its review of the situation has concluded and that a case against the “Stand by Me” actor won’t be pursued.
“I can confirm that our office did review a matter submitted to us involving Mr. Feldman and ultimately rejected a criminal filing,” the spokesman said.
Feldman’s attorney, Perry Wander, told TheWrap in a statement; “After a comprehensive investigation by the Los Angeles Police Department, the Los Angeles City Attorney’s office rejected the filing of a criminal complaint against my client Corey Feldman. The City Attorney’s office agreed with my assessment of the criminal case, and declined to file charges.”
Last month, a spokeswoman for the Los Angeles Police Department told TheWrap that Feldman, who has launched a crusade against sexual abuse in Hollywood, had himself been accused of sexual battery.
According to TMZ, a woman accused Feldman on Jan.8 of grabbing her rear end early last year. A representative for Feldman told TMZ at the time that the actor “vehemently denies these egregious claims.”
After news of the accusation broke, Feldman took to Twitter to address the situation, saying: “We knew this was coming.”
The “Goonies” star also suggested that the investigation may have been sparked by former members of his band, Corey’s Angels, in retribution for Feldman canceling his tour.
“FRIENDS, FANS, & #FELDFAM WE KNEW THIS WAS COMING: AS U ALL KNOW WE HAV BEEN WARNED OF THREATS OF ATTACKS FROM A FEW OF THE FORMER ‘ANGELS’ FROM MY BAND SINCE I HAD 2 CANCEL MY TOUR UNEXPECTEDLY,” Feldman wrote. “AS U ALSO KNOW MY PRIMARY MISSION IS 2 FIGHT AGAINST SEXUAL ABUSE OF PPL OF ALL AGES.”
