Michael Chaves, director of the upcoming “The Curse of La Llorona,” will direct “Conjuring 3,” an individual with knowledge of the project told TheWrap.

James Wan, who directed the first and second film in the franchise, will produce via his Atomic Monster production company. Peter Safran will also produce via his Safran Company banner.

New Line and Atomic Monster will release Chaves’ directing debut, “The Curse of La Llorona,” on April 19, 2019. He was discovered after he directed the award-winning short “The Maiden.”
