A day after appearing as Conan O'Brien's guardian angel in the cold-open of TBS' "Conan" debut, Larry King announced a month's worth of guests — including O'Brien — which will take him just short of the finish line at CNN.
O'Brien will appear on "Larry King Live" on December 13, just three days before King hangs up his suspenders.
Other notable guests include Mike Tyson (Nov. 24), Stevie Wonder (Nov. 30) and Carlos Slim (Dec. 3).
Additional guests will be added and announced soon, CNN said, including those for King’s final "Live" broadcast on December 16.
"Larry King’s retiring after hosting 'Larry King Live' for 25 years," O'Brien wrote on his Twitter feed in June. "Personally, I think hosting anything longer than 7 months is overkill."
And King's surprise appearance on Conan's TBS debut was an example of corporate synergy between TBS and CNN (both owned by parent Time Warner) which some weren't sure would happen so fast.
