San Diego Comic-Con 2019 is in full swing, boasting a lineup packed with panels and screenings for fans of everything from “Arrow” to “Veronica Mars.”
Marvel Studios is sure to be the stand out of the 50th anniversary of the world’s most-famous fan convention — which runs July 17-21 — with a Saturday night Hall H panel laying out the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe after “Avengers: Endgame” and “Spider-Man: Far From Home.” It’s not only a splashy return to San Diego a year after skipping SDCC entirely — the appearance will also see Marvel own the day on the movies front, thanks to Warner Bros.’ decision not to hold their usual two hour film panel that traditionally kicked off Saturdays in Hall H.
On the small-screen side, HBO is the belle of the ball — also returning to the San Diego Convention Center after a year off — with Hall H panels for “Westworld,” “His Dark Materials,” and a final one for “Game of Thrones.” Plus, the network is holding what it calls “a surprise in-world opportunity” for its upcoming “Watchmen” series somewhere in San Diego’s Gaslamp Quarter, details TBA.
