Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana and their castmates from Disney and Marvel's upcoming "Guardians of the Galaxy” staged the second mass surprise in as many hours at Comic-Con on Saturday, appearing before fans to talk about the movie with director James Gunn.

Just moments earlier, more than a dozen members of the cast of “X-Men: Days of Future Past” pulled a similar stunt with director Bryan Singer.
"Guardians," based on the popular Marvel comic, chronicles a pilot and a group of ex-cons on the run. The film is only two weeks into shooting, but the cast, including Pratt (left), Saldana, Benicio Del Toro and Lee Pace, all flew out.

Before showing a few minutes of footage introducing characters like Rocket Raccoon and Groot, host Chris Hardwick asked the cast to spill a little on their own roles.
Pratt plays Peter Quill, whom he the actor described as "a jerk who goes around space making out with hot alien girls and being a rogue." Yet then he decides to help a family he comes to care for.
Saldana plays Gamora, a green-skinned humanoid, or, as Saldana put it, "an assasin from space."
While both Pratt and Saldana are familiar to fans at the convention for past work, Dave Bautista, a former WWE wrestler, is a new face for Hollywood and comic book fans.
“I wanted this more than I wanted anything in my life,” Bautista said. “When I got the job I cried like a little baby.”
