Comedy ‘Walk of Shame’ Opening Pushed Back a Month by Focus

Starring Elizabeth Banks and James Marsden, the Steve Brill comedy will open on April 25, 2014

The release of the Steve Brill comedy “Walk of Shame” has been pushed a month, and will now open on April 25, 2014,” Focus World announced Tuesday.

“Walk of Shame,” which stars Elizabeth Banks and James Marsden, had been set for a March 14 release by FilmDistrict. That firm was absorbed by Focus in October.

Brill wrote and directed “Walk of Shame,” which co-stars Gillian Jacobs, Ethan Suplee, Sarah Mason, Oliver Hudson and Willie Garson.

In the film, Banks plays a reporter whose dream of becoming a news anchor is compromised after a one-night stand leaves her stranded in downtown L.A. without a phone, car, ID or money — and only 8 hours to make it to the most important job interview of her life.

Its original date had it up against the Weinstein Company’s “Grace of Monaco” and the action film “Need for Speed.” The new date means it will vie with the Cameron Diaz comedy “The Other Woman” and Relativity’s adventure tale “Echo.”
