Viewers in markets carrying Comcast's cable service Xfinity will soon be able to watch a lot more of what they want, when they want it.
Comcast announced at the NCTA Cable Show in Chicago Wednesday that it's dramatically increasing the content that it offers from Starz, Encore and Movieplex via the On Demand and HD on Demand subscriptions on Xfinity.
Whereas under the old agreement, Xfinity offered a total of 325 titles from Starz, Encore and Movieplex under its Standard VOD plan, it will now offer 800 titles.
The High-Definition VOD offerings, meanwhile, will expand at an even greater rate, increasing by 650 percent, from 80 titles to 520.
