Colorado Shooting Suspect Video Uncovered

Six-year-old video shows James Holmes, 18 at the time, speaking to a Miramar College science group about "temporal illusions."

Video has emerged of James Holmes, the 24-year-old suspect in the Aurora, Colo., theater massacre, speaking at a college science event.

The video was obtained by ABC News. It is 6 years old and shows Holmes as an 18-year-old speaking on "temporal illusions" to a group of his peers at Miramar College in San Diego.

Holmes remained in custody Sunday as authorities continued to search his apartment, which had been cleared of booby-traps and explosives on Saturday, for evidence that might link him to the shooting, in which 12 were killed and dozens injured.

"Over the course of the summer I've been working with a temporal illusion. It's an illusion that allows you to change the past," Holmes said in the video.

Before speaking, Holmes is introduced at the seminar as someone whose "goals are to become a researcher and to make scientific discoveries. In personal life, he enjoys playing soccer and strategy games and his dream is to own a slurpee machine."

On Sunday, officials at the University of Colorado's Anschutz Medical Campus told ABC that they are looking whether Holmes had items delivered to the school as a graduate student.

"We are cooperating fully with the police investigation. It was mentioned yesterday that deliveries may have come to his work. That is being looked into," University spokeswoman Jacque Montgomery said.

Officials Saturday said they now have "evidence of calculation and deliberation," in the way he allegedly planned and prepared for the shooting, beginning to buy weapons and ammunition two months ago.

Holmes is originally from San Diego.
