On Saturday, Donald Trump visited Paradise, California, the town ravaged by the ongoing Camp Fire, which he mistakenly referred to as “Pleasure,” before California Gov. Jerry Brown corrected him. So on Monday’s episode of “The Late Show,” Stephen Colbert offered a helpful clarification he thinks Trump could understand.
“Pleasure, Paradise, it’s easy to get them mixed up,” Colbert joked. “Just remember Mr. President, ‘Pleasure’ is the dancer. ‘Paradise’ is where she works.”
While visiting the site of California’s deadliest-ever wildfire over the weekend, Trump said: “You don’t see what’s going on until you come here. And what we saw at Pleasure, what a name, right now.”
“We just left Pleasure,” he continued.
Colbert also noted Trump’s response when asked if the devastation in California has changed his mind about whether climate change is real: “I have a strong opinion. I want great climate.”
“You want learn grammar,” joked Colbert.
In other news, Colbert also announced during Monday’s episode of “The Late Show” that on Nov. 30, he’ll be joined by former first lady Michelle Obama. She’s currently promoting her best-selling memoir, “Becoming,” which sold more than 700,000 copies on its first day of release.
