CNN shook up its daytime schedule on Friday, removing the international series “Around the World” with Suzanne Malveaux and Michael Holmes and instituting a new anchor team for the 11 a.m. ET hour.
Beginning Feb. 10, “Early Start” anchor John Berman and “New Day” anchor Michaela Pereira will co-anchor CNN’s 11 a.m. hour, with “Legal View With Ashleigh Banfield” shifting to noon ET, the timeslot currently occupied by “Around the World.”
“Around the World” co-host Suzanne Malveaux will shift to national correspondent for CNN, covering politics, breaking news and international news. The move will allow Malveaux to return to Washington, D.C. to better care for her mother, whose struggle with ALS has been chronicled on CNN.

Malveaux’s “Around the World” cohort, Michael Holmes, will return full time to CNN International.
The cable news network will continue to provide international news throughout its programming, with Wolf Blitzer handling much of that coverage during the day.
