CMT has scheduled the series finale of “Nashville,” with the final eight episodes of the country music drama to begin airing on June 7.
Starring Hayden Panettiere, Clare Bowen, Chris Carmack and Charles Esten, “Nashville” will conclude its sixth and final season on July 26.
The network released a new teaser for the last run of episodes following Thursday’s midseason finale.
CMT also announced on Thursday that “Deliverance” star Ronny Cox and “The Strain’s” Mia Maestro would join the series for its final run of episodes in recurring roles.
Cox will play Deacon’s father Gideon, a recently reformed, lifelong alcoholic who’s back to try and heal a long broken relationship with his son. The character is described as “a crusty, frustrated, would-be musician, who resented his son’s success.” Maestro will play Rosa, a dedicated follower of Darius’ (Josh Stamberg) Movement who begins to have doubts about her role in it.
Cox is represented by APA and Levine Management, and Maestro is represented by ICM Partners and Brillstein Entertainment Partners.
