CMT Names Kurt Patat Senior Vice President of Communications

Former MTV VP will oversee all media relations and internal communications for the network

CMT has announced the appointment of Kurt Patat as Senior Vice President of Communications, the network announced on Wednesday.

Managing publicity teams in Los Angeles and Nashville, Patat will oversee all media relations and internal communications for Viacom’s country-themed network.

“Kurt’s arrival heralds CMT’s elevated presence in the entertainment capitols,” said Brian Philips, President of CMT in a statement. “We will be well served by his years of hard-earned relationships and savvy music background at MTV.”

Patat previously served as Vice President of Communications for MTV and Logo, leading publicity efforts for the two networks’ programming initiatives, including the MTV Video Music Awards and the launch of Logo’s “Trailblazers.”

Prior to joining MTV in 2010, Patat directed media relations for AOL’s consumer sites, including Moviefone, AOL Music and AOL Television.
