Cineflix Taps Wayne to Run Scripted Programming

Former AMC executive helped oversee “Mad Men” and “Breaking Bad”

Documentary television company Cineflix has tapped Christina Wayne to be president of its newly founded scripted entertainment entity Cineflix Studios.

Wayne has had some experience building a network’s scripted programming from the ground up. She previously worked as senior vice president of scripted series and miniseries at AMC, where she shepherded such Emmy-winning hits as “Mad Men,” “Breaking Bad” and “Broken Trail” to the small screen.

Cineflix is moving away from its nonfiction roots. With Wayne at the helm, Cineflix says it will develop programming in-house as well as looking for material developed externally. The company currently is developing several one-hour dramas, half-hour comedies and live-action and animated children’s programming.

Wayne will work out of Cineflix’s New York City office, where she will oversee the network’s push into scripted programming in the U.S., the U.K. and Canada.
