Once upon a time, in a faraway land there was a princess … rap battle.
While hip-hop is not what you expect from a fairytale, Sarah Michelle Gellar breathes new life into the “Cinderella” story when she takes on Belle from “Beauty in the Beast,” played by YouTube sensation Whitney Avalon.
In a new video, it’s Cinderella vs. Belle as the “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” star drops her sickly sweet smile and raps: “Another princess in my shadow come to covet my crown, you girls wanna throw down with the best in the gown.
“I’m sharper than a needle and I’m giving out stitches … I deserve all the credit for the foot fetish craze, I’ve got itty bitty kicks but legs for days.”
Belle doesn’t back down from the challenge, however, as she flips up her long skirt and boasts, “I’m the perfect combination of brains and beauty.”
Cinders is not ladylike in her response, telling her Disney rival: “You’ve got teapots for friends and I think your man’s shedding.
“You followed in my footsteps, without me there’s no you. Disney built an empire on these tiny glass shoes,” she boasted.
The real “Cinderella” reboot stars Cate Blanchett, Lily James and Helena Bonham-Carter. Academy award nominee Kenneth Branagh directed the Chris Weitz script. Simon Kinberg produced, along with Allison Shearmurand David Barron. Tim Lewis served as executive producer.
“Cinderella” opens in theaters on March 13, 2015.
