Chuck Klosterman, the pop culture scribe and author of "Sex, Drugs, and Cocoa Puffs," will begin writing the New York Times Magazine's Ethicist column this Sunday, the newspaper announced today.
Rumors abounded on Twitter hours before Klosterman, publishing his first tweet as the Gray Lady's moral arbiter, confirmed the hire, tweeting, "This time, the Internet is correct."
Soon after, the magazine's editor Hugo Lindgren wrote a post announcing Klosterman's new position.
"As for his ethical qualifications, anyone who has read Chuck's work knows him as a writer who likes to confront, with great humor and wisdom, all manner of thorny questions and complicated characters," wrote Lindgren, "and who isn't afraid of expressing his opinion about how things are How They Should Be."
Klosterman, a North Dakota native, previously wrote a column for Esquire and authored eight books, including two novels.
