Christoph Waltz and Amy Adams are about to go to war over paintings of children with disproportionally large eyes in the first trailer for Tim Burton‘s “Big Eyes.”
The film is based on the true story of Margaret and Walter Keane, the married couple credited with creating and painting images of big-eyed children which became massively popular in the 1960s, and will follow the couple as they begin to dispute who really painted the art, culminating in a courtroom paint-off.

The film takes the side of Adams’ Margaret, who started painting the large-eyed children even before she met Waltz’s Walter, and the ensuing growing resentment she felt as he began to publicly take credit for them as their empire and riches grew.
“Big Eyes” will be released on Christmas Day.
