Author-activist Christine Pelosi and San Francisco Chronicle Editor-in-Chief Audrey Cooper will speak Monday evening at WrapWomen’s Power Women event in San Francisco.

In addition, actress and disability lifestyle advocate Lolo Spencer, the star of the indie film “Give Me Liberty,” will be joined on stage with the film’s writer and producer Alice Austen. The gathering, which will include cocktails, networking and panel discussions, will take place at the San Francisco Chronicle.

Pelosi serves as a Democratic Party political strategist and general counsel for We Said Enough. Elected as California Democratic Party Women’s Caucus Chair and Democratic National Committee Executive Committeewoman, Pelosi is the author of “Campaign Boot Camp” and “Campaign Boot Camp 2.0.”

Cooper is the first female editor-in-chief of the San Francisco Chronicle and the youngest woman in U.S. history to run a major metro newspaper. Under her leadership, The Chronicle has won nearly every major national journalism prize as well as more than a dozen Emmy awards.

Spencer, in addition to starring as Tracy in “Give Me Liberty,” runs the YouTube series “Sitting Pretty” to showcase her life as a woman in a wheelchair. Spencer states that her ultimate goal in life is to dispel myths and stereotypes of how disability lifestyle is perceived and experienced.

Austen is an award-winning playwright, screenwriter and producer. Her most recent project, “Give Me Liberty,” directed by Kirill Mikhanovsky, was showcased at this year’s Sundance Film Festival and the Cannes Film Festival, where it received a 10-minute standing ovation. The Kickstarter-funded film follows a day in the life of a medical transport van driver, offering a glimpse at the social issues our country faces today.
