UPDATED Wednesday 5:30 p.m. PT:
All Nippon Airways released a statement in response to the incident, saying: “At the time during the flight, the pilot in command was presented with information about the discrepancy in the passenger manifest. Based on the available information in flight, he made the correct decision to return to LAX.
The airline said it supported the pilot’s decision “out of the abundance of caution and safety for the passengers and crew,” adding, “ANA would like to express its apologies to the passengers for the inconvenience. We take great pride providing exemplary customer service, and on this flight we failed to do so.”
PREVIOUSLY:
Chrissy Teigen had terrible travel luck on Tuesday, and her ordeal went well into the night.
The model, TV host and pregnant wife to John Legend first shared her experiences at around 5:30 p.m. PT when the All Nippon Airways flight she and Legend taking to Tokyo went nowhere from eight hours and 20 minutes.
“A flying first for me: 4 hours into an 11 hour flight and we are turning around because we have a passenger who isn’t supposed to be on this plane,” Teigen wrote. “Why…why do we all gotta go back, I do not know.”

A fellow passenger shared the highly unusual flight path from LAX … back to LAX.

While another passenger was delighted to be sat near Teigen and Legend, even though none of them were getting anywhere closer to Tokyo.
My first tweet can’t be more epic than this: just survived an 8-hour LAX-LAX flight with @chrissyteigen and @johnlegend on #ANA #NH175 pic.twitter.com/yY0vIqfcja

“Still on the plane. Starting to get a little…as james franco in spring breakers would say… spicious,” Teigen later wrote.
She went on to chronicle the investigation once the mystery passenger had been removed from the plane, saying: “Police were interviewing all the people seated around the mystery person once we got off the plane. Why would they do this! I MUST KNOW MORE.”
Once they had all deboarded back in Los Angeles, the “Lip Sync Battle” co-host still didn’t know what was going on, even though she told her followers she wished “I could be your snowden.”
The famous couple was later moved to a private waiting room where they were tortured by being made to watch Bravo.
I have been moved to a room with Bravo. Clearly the authorities are trying to keep me quiet so I don’t BLOW THE LID OFF THIS “SITCH” pic.twitter.com/ohhpCmjviG

While she still didn’t have any solid information on the flight drama, Teigen did shoot a video with the update: “Lisa Rinna has just arrived in Las Vegas,” in case you were concerned about the “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” plotline.

Her ordeal even caught the attention of Rinna herself.
I’m in a room with water and a tv! The government is using real housewives to keep me quiet !!!!!! https://t.co/ypPVjAF85C
