When you think music awards show host, Chrissy Teigen probably isn’t the first name to come to mind.
But the supermodel says she’s up to the task of co-hosting the 2015 Billboard Music Awards with rapper and “Furious 7” star Ludacris.
“I’ve never really done live TV before, so I have my swear jar going. I’m working on not making any big mistakes,” Teigen said Tuesday at Twitter’s Santa Monica offices where the nominations were announced.
TheWrap had a front row seat at the news conference as an upbeat Teigen said her plan of action is to keep an open mind and go with the flow.
“I’m actually looking forward to those crazy moments where someone rushes the stage. That’s honestly what I’m most looking forward to, the moments where it’s like ‘Did that just really effing happen?’” she said. “I’m excited for that because I think I do best in those settings and I’m just praying somebody takes their pants off or does something worthwhile where I can get a good laugh from it.”
The first five categories of the Billboard Awards finalists were revealed by returning host
A short time later, Teigen and “Empire” star Jussie Smollett announced the remaining nominees.
The supermodel is married to award-winning musician John Legend. And TheWrap couldn’t help but notice the proud wife lost it each time Legend’s name was announced. With a total of seven nominations, that’s a lot of cheering.
The Billboard Music Awards will be broadcast live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Sunday, May 17, on ABC at 8 p.m ET.
