Chris Pine is nearing a deal to play Gal Gadot‘s love interest in Warner Bros forthcoming “Wonder Woman,” an individual with knowledge of the talks told TheWrap.
The studio declined to comment on casting speculation. Reps for Pine have not yet returned TheWrap’s request for comment.
“Wonder Woman” will be directed by Patty Jenkins, who stepped in to replaceย Michelle MacLarenย in mid-April. MacLaren, whose credits include “Breaking Bad” and “Game of Thrones,” parted ways with the project over creative differences.
Jenkins and MacLaren share a similar background, as Jenkins was hired by Marvel to direct their superhero property “Thor 2” before vacating her own chair due to creative differences.
