Donald Trump — now President Trump — appears in plenty of film cameos. According to “Scent of a Woman” star Chris O’Donnell, he almost had another.
The actor visited “Conan” Wednesday night and talked about his experiences on the Al Pacino film, which included a walk-on part for Trump and his then-wife Marla Maples.
“We got new pages given to us one day when we were filming [at] the Plaza Hotel — which I guess Trump owned at the time — and it said we’re doing a scene with Donald Trump and it explained to us in that in order for us to film at the Plaza we had a little walk-on part for Trump,” O’Donnell said.
O’Donnell went on to explain the scene: his and Pacino’s characters pull up in a limo and go into the Plaza, followed by Trump and Maples, who pull up after. Neither of them had any lines, so the part was pretty disposable.
Host Conan O’Brien was flabbergasted.
“Donald probably thought that’s going to be in the movie and they were throwing that footage away as he was leaving,” O’Brien said.
O’Brien then had to wonder if this happened with any other film that was shooting at the Plaza.
“Donald was like, probably thought that was gonna be in the movie and they were throwing that footage away as he was leaving,” he said. “I just picture him going to countless movies at the Plaza with popcorn. ‘Here it comes!’ And then, ‘Where is it?!’”
