Apple is getting into business with Chris Evans. The tech giant has given a straight-to-series order to the drama “Defending Jacob,” which will be executive produced by and star Captain America himself.

The limited series is described as a gripping, character-driven thriller based on the 2012 New York Times best-selling novel of the same name written by William Landay.

“Defending Jacob” hails from Paramount Television and Anonymous Content and is created, written and executive produced by “Planet of the Apes” screenwriter Mark Bomback, who will also serve as showrunner. Evans will also grab an EP credit, alongside Morten Tyldum (“The Imitation Game,” “Counterpart,” “Jack Ryan”) who will direct the series. Rosalie Swedlin and Adam Shulman will executive produce for Anonymous Content.

Evans is set to reprise his role as Captain America in the yet-to-be-titled final “Avengers” film. He recently starred in “Lobby Hero” on Broadway and is about to begin production on “The Devil All the Time.”

He is represented by CAA, 3 Arts, Attorney Jason Sloane and Narrative PR.

Tyldum is repped by WME, Anonymous Content, and Bloom, Hergott, Diemer, Rosenthal, Laviolette, Feldman, Schenkman & Goodman.

Bomback is repped at WME, Anonymous Content, and David Colden.
