Chris Cuomo confirmed on Thursday’s "Good Morning America" that he is leaving that show to join "20/20."

Cuomo remains within the ABC family with the shift, becoming co-anchor with Elizabeth Vargas of the primetime newsmagazine.
Friday is his last day as news reader on the morning show. That’s also Diane Sawyer’s last day before she leaves to take the anchor desk on ABC’s "World News Tonight" from the retiring Charlie Gibson.
"This Week’s" George Stephanopoulos is joining "GMA" in Sawyer’s place.
