Chris Christie will join ABC News as a contributor beginning Tuesday, TheWrap has learned.

The former New Jersey governor is to debut as a new political analyst joining the network’s news division on Tuesday’s “Good Morning America,” according an individual familiar with the matter.

Christie, who briefly served as the head of Donald Trump’s transition team and chaired the White House’s Opioid and Drug Abuse Commission, will return to air Tuesday evening to comment on the president’s “State of the Union” address.

ABC News declined TheWrap’s request for comment.

Christie, a once-rising star in the Republican party marred by the “Bridgegate“scandal and a failed presidential bid, ended his two-terms as governor earlier this month with just a 14 percent approval rating — marking him the least-popular governor in the state’s history.

Christie joins Meghan McCain and Alex Castellanos as recent conservative commentators to join the network.

NJ.com first broke the news.
