Chris Brown has denied a woman’s assertion to authorities that she was raped by the singer after they met at a club in Paris a week ago.
Captioning an image that reads “THIS B!TCH LYIN’,” Brown wrote the following on Instagram Tuesday afternoon:
I WANNA MAKE IT PERFECTLY CLEAR…… THIS IS FALSE AND A WHOLE LOT OF CAP! NNNNNNNNEEEEEEEEEEVVVVVVVVVVEEEEEERRRRRR!!!!!! FOR MY DAUGHTER AND MY FAMILY THIS IS SO DISPRESPECTFUL AND IS AGAINST MY CHARACTER AND MORALS!!!!!
Brown’s post was since removed from the social media website, but not before we took a screenshot of it:
Previously, Brown was being detained in Paris on potential aggravated rape and drug charges, according to the Associated Press.
The woman who filed the complaint against Brown said she met the Grammy winner and his friends at club Le Crystal. After the overnight encounter, they all went to the Mandarin Oriental Hotel near the Concorde Plaza in central Paris, a Parisian official relayed to the AP.
One of Brown’s bodyguards was also being detained by judicial police in the 17th arrondissement of northwest Paris, the newswire service wrote. CNN said Brown was being held with two unidentified individuals. ABC News now reports that Brown and two others have been released from custody, though the investigation is ongoing.
Brown’s attorney, Mark Geragos, did not respond to TheWrap’s request for comment on our earlier story or for this update. Brown’s record label, Sony Music, also did not return our requests for a statement on the matter.
