You can pick your friends, but you can’t pick your neighbors.
While they are at war in the comedy sequel “Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising,” Seth Rogen and new co-star Chloë Moretz appeared to be on great terms at the film’s premiere on Monday night at the Regency Village Theatre in Los Angeles.
Moretz walked arm-in-arm with boyfriend Brooklyn Beckham (David and Victoria’s 17-year-old model son), as they made their red carpet debut after recently revealing that they are an item.
The 19-year-old actress plays Shelby, a college freshman who opens an off-campus sorority with her girlfriends next door to Mac (Rogen) and Kelly (Rose Byrne).
Rogen was also joined by his other half, actress and screenwriter Lauren Miller.
Byrne and returning cast member Dave Franco (playing Pete, a former frat boy who is now about to marry his boyfriend) were among the familiar faces on the red carpet, as newcomer Kiersey Clemons joined the glamorous group.
While co-star Zac Efron was absent from the premiere, he is prominent in the outrageous comedy as “Neighbors” hunk Teddy, who is now stuck in a post-collegiate rut.
In the slapstick comedy, the sorority girls’ timing to move into the neighborhood couldn’t be worse, since Mac and Kelly are under a 30-day escrow, and if the new owners figure out that there’s a house of unsupervised partiers next door, the deal’s off.
Teddy starts out as a mentor to the sorority, showing them how to make enough money to pay off their shady real estate agent (played by Billy Eichner), but when they decide Teddy’s too old and out-of-it to keep around, he teams up with Mac and Kelly to drive out another bunch of wild and crazy Greeks.
The sequel to the 2014 hit is directed by Nicholas Stoller from a script he co-wrote with Andrew
“Neighbors 2” slides into theaters on May 20.
