‘Chilling Adventures of Sabrina’: Here’s the Working Idea for Possible ‘Riverdale’ Crossover – or Movie

“There’s totally a universe” where the kids of Riverdale and Greendale meet, showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa says

Pretty much everyone wants a crossover between “Riverdale” and “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina.” Well, everyone except The CW president Mark Pedowitz. But that’s not stopping showrunner of both shows Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa from cooking up some ideas on how a potential crossover might work.

“I would hate if there was no way possible for there ever to be a crossover,” Aguirre-Sacasa said in a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly.

“I think there’d be a great episode where the Riverdale kids hear about a haunted house in Greendale and try to break in, and it’s Sabrina’s house,” Aguirre-Sacasa said. “There’s totally a universe where that happens. Or now that we’ve got ‘Sabrina’ and ‘Riverdale,’ maybe there’s a standalone ‘Afterlife’ movie or something that we can do combining both casts.”

Despite Pedowitz’s August comments, Aguirre-Sacasa told TheWrap this summer not to rule out anything too quickly.

“You know, what my boss Greg Berlanti always says about stuff like this is, in success, who knows what can happen? … We teased obviously the town of Greendale a lot, in ‘Riverdale,’ and you know, we make allusions to stuff, so we’ll see,” he said.

In the meantime, we’ll be binging “Sabrina” and looking forward to the “Breakfast Club” tribute episode on “Riverdale.”

“Chilling Adventures of Sabrina” is now streaming on Netflix, and “Riverdale” airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. on The CW.
