Chelsea Handler returns to Netflix this month for new episodes of her spiky talk show, “Chelsea,” which debuted last year on the streaming platform. The difference for season 2: instead of three 30-minute episodes per week, Netflix will air a single one-hour show debuting on Fridays.
In the first promo for the revamped show, Handler welcomes guests, including Kate Hudson, “House of Cards” star Michael Kelly and Amy Schumer — all of whom she appears to go easy on. She saves her venom for Jay Leno: “Go f–k yourself,” she tells the former “Tonight Show” host in the clip.
“Chelsea’s” season 2 premiere will feature funny couple Melissa McCarthy and Ben Falcone with the cast of their new TV Land series “Nobodies,” CNN’s Van Jones, Christiane Amanpour and “Veep” actor Matt Walsh.
The trailer also teases segments of Handler visiting underprivileged youth in Los Angeles and Native Americans in Montana, as well trips to Europe and India.
Handler — a fierce critic of President Trump who didn’t hold back from bashing POTUS on her program leading up to and following the election — promised to Entertainment Weekly that season 2 will be similarly political.
“Watching this administration go down and fall apart at the seams is one of the most enjoyable times of my life,” Handler told EW. “I kind of don’t want it to end too quickly, do you know what I’m saying? Now I’m like, ‘Wait, wait, wait, wait — I don’t want it to be over so soon.’ We’ve gotten so spoiled.”
“Chelsea” returns to Netflix on April 14.
